The conference was jointly hosted by Lingang Group, China Re, PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited, China Pacific Property Insurance Company Limited, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Company of China, Ltd. and the Shanghai Insurance Exchange. Ms. Zhu Xiaoyun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman and President of China Re, delivered an address at the opening ceremony on behalf of the co-hosts.

In her address, Ms. Zhu noted that at the outset of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, with the introduction of policies including the 15th Five-Year Plan for Building China into a Financial Powerhouse and the launch of a pilot scheme facilitating overseas investment of cross-border inward reinsurance income have further underscored the strategic value of reinsurance. She identified four major developments in the industry: higher-level opening-up, evolving risk profiles, an expanding market, and innovation through the integration of primary insurance and reinsurance. She called for joint efforts in risk governance, institutional development and technology sharing. China Re, she stated, remains firmly committed to building a world-class comprehensive reinsurance group and will work with all parties to create a more stable, efficient and resilient reinsurance ecosystem in support of the development of the Shanghai International Reinsurance Center.

During the opening ceremony, the policy facilitating overseas investment of cross-border inward reinsurance income was officially unveiled for the International Reinsurance Functional Zone in the Lingang Special Area, alongside the launch of the first batch of pilot projects. China Re was deeply involved throughout the policy research and assessment process and participated in the initial launch as a pilot institution, providing strong support for  institutional opening-up and innovation in the reinsurance sector in the Lingang Special Area. China Re P&C also gave an exclusive interview to China Financial Media and participated in the Global Reinsurance Advisory Panel, discussing global cooperation and the provision of risk protection and services in marine reinsurance. China Re Life engaged with mainstream media on topics including AI applications, the joint development of a health and elderly care ecosystem, and innovative in longevity risk solutions.

During the conference, China Re hosted a parallel session themed "Insurance and Reinsurance Together, Wisdom Integrates the Ecosystem". Mr. Tian Meipan, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Re, delivered the welcome address. China Re P&C, China Re Life and China Re CRM delivered thematic presentations and participated in panel discussions, assessing trends in the domestic reinsurance market. They shared China Re's research insights and practical experience in frontier areas, including innovation ecosystems for P&C insurance, the development of catastrophe risk management ecosystems, the extensive application of AI in health insurance, and the role of health management in advancing high-quality industry development. Together with industry peers, they explored new approaches for primary insurance-reinsurance integration and the future for a digital and intelligent ecosystem.

Under the theme "Unite Forces, Forge Ahead Together to Build the Ecosystem", the conference brought together more than 1,800 participants from 470 institutions across 39 countries and regions. Major insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries held renewal roadshows and dedicated sharing sessions during the event. The successful conference will further gather domestic and international reinsurance industry forces, advance the development of the reinsurance ecosystem and high-level opening-up, and provide new momentum for the development of the Shanghai International Reinsurance Center.
