China Re Recognized as China's First "Internationally Active Insurance Group"

  On June 20, the National Financial Regulatory Administration announced that China Re has become the first Internationally Active Insurance Group (IAIG) in China. IAIG is a designation by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) for insurance groups that meet specific criteria regarding asset scale and the proportion of international business. The IAIS has developed and continuously refined the Common Framework for the Supervision of IAIGs, aiming to enhance global supervisory consistency, monitor market trends, and maintain the stability of the global insurance market. Currently, there are 59 IAIG members worldwide.

  In recent years, China Re has steadily advanced its internationalization efforts, with the proportion of its international business continuing to rise. Its risk diversification function through reinsurance has been continuously strengthened, actively participating in global risk governance and integrating into the international insurance and reinsurance market.

  China Re will seize this opportunity to firmly advance its strategic goal of building a world-class comprehensive reinsurance group. By focusing on its core responsibilities and main business, strengthening technology-driven capabilities, and deepening global governance, the company will follow a path of financial development with Chinese characteristics, effectively serve high-level opening-up, and make due contributions to the construction of a financial powerhouse.
