2020 is the decisive year for the battle against poverty. On 13 April, China Re Group held an online poverty alleviation symposium. Leadership team members of the Group Company, secondment cadres for poverty alleviation in Xunhua County, new members of the poverty alleviation working group and members of the ramen industry coordination and promotion group participated in the meeting on site or through online video.

　　The secondment cadres for poverty alleviation in Xunhua County reported on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in Xunhua County, the organization and progress of the poverty alleviation preparation work and the main tasks, difficulties and overall work ideas of poverty alleviation in 2020. The newly appointed members of the poverty alleviation working group made their statements respectively. All member unanimously stated that poverty alleviation is a glorious mission with great responsibilities, and they will complete the poverty alleviation tasks assigned by the party committee of the Group Company with a high sense of political responsibility and mission. By active exploration of poverty alleviation based on actual situation, they will study diligently, make more reflections, fully promote the development of ramen economy in Xunhua County, and resolutely complete all tasks in the phase of poverty alleviation consolidation.

　　After listening to the report on poverty alleviation work and discussing relevant work, Yuan Linjiang, secretary of the party committee and chairman of the Group Company, emphasized that the Group system shall thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the forum on resolutely defeat poverty on 6 March, enhance political foresights, resolutely assume political responsibilities of poverty alleviation, and unswervingly implement CPC Central Committee’s decisions and deployments to ensure that the goals of poverty alleviation will be completed as scheduled. At the same time, the Group Company shall further implement the spirit of the poverty alleviation conference of China Investment Corporation on 19 March, and continue to increase investment in accordance with the requirements of “successful poverty alleviation without the removal of responsibilities, policies, supports and regulations” to further deepen the “1+1+N” new poverty-reoccurrence prevention model which focus on poverty-reoccurrence prevention insurance and the ramen economy. The Group Company shall maintain the stability of poverty alleviation efforts and policy measures, accelerate the establishment of a long-term mechanism for solving the problem of relative poverty, and continue to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation efforts. Secretary Yuan pointed out that secondment cadres and newly appointed members of the poverty alleviation working group must always keep in mind their mission and actively perform their duties; they must strive for self-improvement, continue to acquire business knowledge, and make innovations in working methods; they must give full play to the courage and diligence of young people to help and promote the upgrade of the ramen industry in Xunhua County; they must have a disciplined spirit, always attach great importance to disciplines and rules, and resolutely eliminate formalism and bureaucratism. Exploration of the establishment of party branches for poverty alleviation cadres at poverty alleviation points will be carried out, so as to strengthen the ideological and political education and organization activities for poverty alleviation cadres. China Re Group’s Organizational Departments of CPC Committee and Party Mass-Affairs Departments at all levels must do a good job in providing services to and supporting the poverty alleviation cadres to ease their worries.

　　Other members of the leadership team of China Re Group also proposed specific requirements and earnest expectations for poverty alleviation in 2020 and the cadres. China Re Group’s Organizational Departments of CPC Committee and Party Mass-Affairs Department also attended the symposium.
